From workflow triggers to AI assistants, HubSpot's new updates will make sure your work is streamlined from the start.
Each month, HubSpot releases dozens of updates. These new tools can be hard to keep track of, so as a Platinum HubSpot Solutions Partner, Trekk is here with our HubSpot Enablement Specialist Somer Baier to break down what new updates you need to know about, and how you can use them to improve your sales, marketing, and communication.
As Trekk's HubSpot Enablement Specialist, here are some standout updates I think you should be excited about. Think of it as less “update overload” and more “here’s how you can use these updates.” Let’s dig in.
HubSpot's new 1:1 email workflow triggers turn everyday email engagement into automation signals so your team never misses a window of opportunity. The feature uses sends, opens, clicks, and replies from 1:1 emails to trigger the next step in the workflow, making it easier to automate follow-up when buyer interest is high.
In most teams, sales reps send dozens of 1:1 emails a day, but there is no consistent way to act on the most engaged contacts. Picture this: your sales rep sends a personalized 1:1 email to a prospect with a quick product demo video attached. A few hours later, the contact not only opens the email but clicks the link and watches the video. Yet, the rep sees the engagement hours later, if at all. By the time they follow up, interest has cooled. These triggers change that by automatically queuing tasks or communications the moment engagement happens.
This ensures the sales rep has a specific follow-up task to engage with the prospect while interest is at its peak, giving sales teams a smarter way to spot high buying intent based on real engagement. That means less guessing, faster follow-ups, and more focus on the opportunities most likely to convert. Teams can now be prepared for any prospective response by building streamlined processes and automations around everyday sales activities happening directly inside HubSpot. This feature lets reps stay proactive without adding extra manual work.
You can try out these workflow triggers yourself by following a few simple steps.
From the Workflows tool homepage, click "Create workflow" and select "From scratch"
Choose the Email object on the object select page
Choose the trigger based on Email events or properties
Add actions as usual
A practical setup I would suggest using is when a contact clicks a product demo link in a rep’s 1:1 email, use HubSpot to instantly create a same-day follow-up task and set a high-priority queue. Another way you could use the feature is if a contact replies with a buying question, have HubSpot automatically notify the owner via Slack and update the lifecycle stage. The key is to keep workflows focused on a few clear, repeatable steps your team will actually follow.
One thing to note: This function does not include the ability to send 1:1 emails from workflows, only to trigger automation based on emails once they exist in the CRM.
HubSpot's Breeze Assistant uses context from across your CRM to efficiently gather the information you need to save time and improve your workflows.
Breeze can use CRM data, past conversations, and email templates to generate ready-to-send, unique emails that can be inserted into the CRM composer with all fields pre-filled, helping reps respond quickly without sacrificing quality or personalization.
As I've seen with Trekk's clients, for a sales rep, time is everything. In between back-to-back meetings, reps still need to prioritize sending follow ups to prospects. Instead of digging through CRM notes, old email threads, and saved templates to craft the “perfect” response, they can now simply ask Breeze Assistant to draft the email for them. Within seconds, Breeze pulls together the contact’s CRM history, previous conversations, and relevant templates to generate a polished reply that pulls in meeting talking points, relevant resources, and next steps.
From there, you can make quick tweaks, adjust tone, and personalize details right inside the email editor before hitting send. For a prospect who just replied with a pricing question, Breeze can assemble a clear, on-brand explanation with accurate pricing information using your approved template language.
Whether it’s following up after a demo, replying to a pricing question, or re-engaging a stalled opportunity, this feature helps streamline communication, improve response consistency, and keep deals moving forward with less hands-on manual effort.
Breeze Assistant is already built into your HubSpot. To best use Breeze to send follow-up emails, here's what I recommend:
When asking Breeze to draft the email, you can give it context or it can just read the record you are currently on and gather context from there. If you're unsatisfied with the email Breeze drafted, I recommend selecting the "Re-promt" option (located next to the "Insert" button), giving the assistant more information on what context from across your CRM you would like it to use, and regenerating the email.
Now, Breeze Assistant can also be used directly from the CRM Email Composer to help write emails, instead of just being accessed from the sidebar. This addition helps users draft, refine, and review email content without leaving the workflow they are currently on. To access this, type a "/" into the email editor or select the Breeze Assistant button within the composer toolbar.
