Rockford, IL — Rockford-based creative services agency Trekk has sponsored a student scholarship through the Graphic Communications Scholarship Foundation (GCSF). GCSF is volunteer-run 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that educates, supports, and prepares the next generation of talented students for the emerging needs of the graphic communication media industry.

The awards ceremony was held on Monday, June 24 at the Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel in New York, New York. Trekk Senior Account Manager Jaclyn Bloch and Director of Content Strategy Shayne Terry presented the Trekk scholarship to David Garcia, Jr., who is completing his studies at the State University of New York at Purchase.

In addition to the presentation of more than a dozen student scholarships, the ceremony included the awarding of grants to organizations that promote education within the industry, including the New York City College of Technology and the Women's Press Collective. The evening's celebration concluded with the presentation of GCSF’s Champion of Education award to Francis McMahon, Executive Vice President, Canon Solutions America.

"Alongside our long-time client Canon Solutions America, we are proud to support GCSF in its mission of educating up-and-coming graphic communications professionals," said Emilee Christianson, Director of Client Services at Trekk. "We feel lucky to do great work in this industry, and we welcome the next generation to join us."
