As summer winds down and everyone's trickling back from vacation, the last thing you need is your CRM adding extra steps to your day. This month's updates are all about cutting the busywork so you spend less time navigating and more time actually acting on what you find.
Each month, HubSpot releases dozens of updates. These new tools can be hard to keep track of, so as a Platinum HubSpot Solutions Partner, Trekk is here with our HubSpot Enablement Specialist Somer Baier to break down what new updates you need to know about, and how you can use them to improve your sales, marketing, and communication.
Let's get into these HubSpot updates, including a new look to the CRM, cross-object filtering, and new AI agent capabilities.
New Theme for a Streamlined Experience
All hubs and tiers
As the first step towards a more modern, streamlined user interface, HubSpot is launching a new theme. The classic theme HubSpot users are accustomed to will be sunset on August 31.
Nothing about how HubSpot works is changing with this update, just how it looks and feels. HubSpot’s navigation and structure are staying the same, so you don’t have to worry about relearning anything.
This will be the same HubSpot, just cleaner and faster to work from. This theme will have fewer places to go, clearer next steps, and workspaces that work together instead of alongside each other. The new theme is the first step towards a more modern, streamlined user interface.
This theme has a lighter feel overall, with cleaner typography, intentional spacing, and less heavy headers.
In the new theme, when you log into HubSpot you’ll see a prioritized view of the actions that matter most for the day right on your home page, such as high priority tasks, upcoming meetings, which follow-ups are overdue, and which deals have gone quiet. This new feed layout replaces the widget-based home page with a changing daily brief feed and sidebar.
The index pages, where all your CRM records are managed, are also changing. The lists will now display metrics, insights, and improved filtering alongside the records. This eliminates the need to go into dashboards to view trends or performance.
This shift is also working toward making Breeze, HubSpot’s AI assistant, a more central part of the CRM’s operations. Breeze now understands where you are in HubSpot, so if you ask a question while you’re on a specific contact record, it will likely know you are asking the question in relation to that contact. Breeze will also be able to build reports, surface answers from your own data, and will ask clarifying questions to give you the best answer.
The HubSpot mobile app will also be updated to match this theme’s new look and feel.
This new look has been available through public beta since June 30, but it will roll out to all customers on August 31.
Inline Association Table to Access Record Data Directly
All professional and enterprise hubs
The new inline association table lets you see and act on associated record data directly from any CRM index page.
Picture a sales manager who needs to reassign contacts from one rep to another. The sales manager can filter the companies view based on the current owner, then expand the inline association table on each account to surface its associated deals and contacts without leaving the list. From there, the manager can bulk reassign ownership, updating deal owners and contact owners across an entire territory in one pass.
Because the work happens directly on the index page, the manager keeps full account-level context throughout the handoff, making it easier to catch things like an account with three open deals but no clear next step, or a key contact who needs a warm introduction before the transition.
How to Use the Inline Association Table
On any CRM index page, click the caret next to a record to expand the inline association table. From there:
- Select the associated object type you want to view.
- Use search and filtering to narrow down records.
- Customize your columns and use bulk actions to update records without leaving the page.
- Click save to save your column selection, sort, and filters to the view.
Cross-Object Filtering to Consolidate Processes
All paid hubs and tiers
With cross-object filtering on CRM index pages, currently in public beta, you can now filter records on index pages based on properties from their associated objects. For example, you can filter contacts by deal properties, companies by ticket properties, or any primary record by its related object data.
A practical use of this cross-object filtering feature would be when building a re-engagement list. Picture a marketing manager who wants to re-engage contacts whose deals recently moved to "closed lost" so she can nurture them for a future opportunity. In the past, the contacts index couldn't filter by deal stage, so she'd need to build this filter in the HubSpot segments tool or export a list of deals and manually match it against her contact database — a tedious, error-prone process for a list she needs regularly.
With cross-object filtering, she can now filter contacts directly by deal stage right on the contacts index page. What used to be a multi-step process now takes a few clicks, letting her spend that time actually writing the re-engagement campaign instead of building the list.
How to Use Cross-Object Filtering
On any CRM index page:
- Open the filter panel and select the option to filter by an associated object.
- Choose an associated object type (e.g., filter contacts by deal properties).
- Select the property and values you want to filter by.
- Apply the filter to see your results.
- You can then save this view, take bulk actions on the filtered records, or use them for targeted outreach.
Help AI Agents Work Together and Fffectively in Agent Hub
All Professional hubs and above with HubSpot Credits
If you’re running multiple AI agents on HubSpot but aren’t sure what they're each up to, this update fixes that issue. Agent Hub brings every HubSpot agent — both pre-built and custom — into one console. By sharing context from the smart CRM, agents stop working in silos and stop stepping on each other's toes.
You can pair this new public beta feature with Agent Builder to create a variety of custom agents all by using plain language. No developer is required to create your own personalized custom agents. This helps you identify where HubSpot’s AI tools are active across your customer journey, review outcomes, and take action.
How to Use HubSpot’s Agent Hub
When you open Agent Hub, you'll see your HubSpot agents mapped across your GTM journey, from awareness through retention, so you can see where AI is working at a glance.
-
Each card shows the agent, whether it's active or inactive, and a primary action.
-
Active agents display the outcomes they're driving (for example, the Customer Agent's resolution rate).
-
Inactive agents show what they'd deliver, with an Activate option to turn them on.
-
-
Activating an agent opens a quick setup flow: name your agent, set a few basics, then you can continue setup or head back to the hub. Once it's running, the card flips to active and starts showing live results.
-
Select Configure on an active card to access that agent's full settings. From there, one click takes you back to Agent Hub.
