Laura Bennett and MJ Anderson were working in the advertising department of a biotech company when they learned about this new thing called the “World Wide Web." Excited by the prospect of this revolutionary communication technology, they decided to strike out on their own — to “trekk” into the wilderness of entrepreneurship.
In 1995, Laura, MJ, and foundational early business partners Louise Poska and Jeff Stewart built the kind of marketing agency they wished to see in the world: both creative and technical, full of energy, and a fun place to work.
Trekk has always been quick to pick up on new technologies that affect the way people communicate; we were one of the first agencies to leverage variable data publishing and were early adopters of using social media, augmented reality, and marketing automation to help our clients connect with their audiences. (One of our core values: we constantly evolve.)
Today, Trekk remains an independent agency run by second-generation owners Shayne Terry and Emilee Christianson. We're proudly based in Rockford, Illinois, where we serve local, national, and global clients.

How we work

Discover
We want to know your story. Who’s your audience, what are your goals, where do you hope to end up? From there, we identify opportunities and recommend a course of action perfectly tailored to you, complete with metrics for measuring our success.

Design
We get creative and show you some concepts. This is an iterative, interactive process, so expect to come along for the ride as we establish a firm creative and technical direction.

Build
We develop your website, shoot your video, produce your app, dream up your content — whatever it takes to bring your ambitious project to life. Before releasing it to the world, we user-test it and set up analytics so that we can track how it’s doing and refine along the way.

Evaluate
We get analytical. How did we measure up against our objectives? Where can we optimize? No journey is complete without taking the time to map our progress, so we evaluate at every milestone.
