Fair will connect local students with over $1.5 million in scholarship funds
The Community Scholarship Fair (CSF), an annual event hosted by the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois (CFNIL), provides Northern Illinois students a unique opportunity to learn about local scholarships. A regular sponsor of both the fair and CFNIL, Trekk will participate again in this year’s event, which will be held December 3, 2024 at Embassy Suites in Rockford.
The CSF is for scholarship seekers from Boone, Ogle, Stephenson, and Winnebago Counties. It provides a valuable opportunity for students to connect directly with local scholarship providers, who are offering over $1.5 million in awards and aid.
“We’re excited to play a part in helping local students navigate the college financial aid process,” said Laura Bennett, Trekk CEO. “The CSF provides a wonderful service for our community by informing students about financial opportunities they might not otherwise find out about and matching them with local organizations for support.”
This year’s fair will include: a seminar to help students hone their essay writing skills, an opportunity to ask FAFSA and financial aid experts their toughest questions, and a one-on-one scholarship application walkthrough. In addition, CFNIL will be setting up a computer lab at this year's event, and the Illinois Student Assistance Commission will be there to help students take full advantage of the opportunities available at the fair.
