Trekk, Inc., a full-service creative agency based in Rockford, IL, announced today that, following an eight-week internship, Brynn Krug has joined the Trekk team as Marketing Coordinator.
Krug, a Rockford native, graduated from Northern Illinois University in May with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and minors in Journalism and Philosophy. She attended NIU as a Rockford Promise Scholar and while there was named an NIU Merit Scholar and an Illinois State Scholar.

Krug served as Editor-in-Chief of the Northern Star, the university's independent student news organization, where she led the editorial staff and oversaw content across all sections. She also hosted and produced more than 50 episodes of The Trend, a pop culture podcast that earned second place honors from the Illinois College Press Association, and wrote and voiced weekly news segments for WNIJ.
“Brynn's journey from Rockford Promise Scholar to intern to full-time employee at Trekk is exactly the kind of success story our community is working to create,” said Kaylene Groh, Executive Director of Rockford Promise. “When local employers invest in students by providing meaningful opportunities, they're not just filling positions—they're developing talent, strengthening their workforce, and helping build a brighter future for the Rockford region. We're incredibly proud of Brynn and grateful to Trekk for believing in the potential of our Scholars.”
