A clear and bold heading
This marketing application sample helps Sylvamo demonstrate the power of print to an important target vertical: the higher education market.
TIME TO HIT THE BOOKS
Global paper company Sylvamo wanted to highlight how print marketing collateral can be an effective communication channel for higher education institutions to engage prospective students and communicate with alumni and donors. This application sample needed to include a wide range of Sylvamo paper brands in a variety of weights and finishes, and it also needed to illustrate how print can be used to create a sensory and tactile experience.
A clear and bold heading
The Forest State College welcome folder has everything a new student could need, from brochures to maps to a ticket to the big game.
CLASS IS IN SESSION
We created a fictitious brand — Forest State College, home of the Fighting Red Foxes — and a comprehensive welcome folder for students attending a campus tour. The sample includes a variety of print touchpoints featuring the school’s mascot and vibrant colors, including a campus housing brochure, campus map, wall poster, and football game ticket.
Each piece incorporates a unique finishing like die-cutting or foiling to show recipients what’s possible with print. Together, the Forest State College samples highlight how the Sylvamo family of paper brands can help higher ed institutions increase enrollment, engagement, and fundraising revenue.
This application sample was so successful that Sylvamo’s sales team received several requests for Forest State College swag, and Sylvamo ended up producing FSC sweatshirts, pencils, and other trade show giveaways for fans. So far, the piece has been honored with a 2024 MUSE Creative Award for best promotional sales kit and is a contender for multiple industry awards.
“My favorite thing about this project is how cohesively the pieces fit together, so much so that Forest State feels like real college students would want to attend. The print quality makes it easy to see why a student would feel passionate about attending FSC.”
