Canon Solutions America wanted holiday cards that could be both sent to customers and used by the sales team to show off the capabilities of the varioPRINT iX. We designed three holiday cards that leverage tactile finishings to engage the senses.
The Possibilities of the Press
We developed three designs for Canon’s holiday card series. Each design uniquely incorporated finishing techniques to elevate the customer experience and show off what’s possible with the Canon varioPRINT iX sheetfed inkjet press.
A clear and bold heading
We used die-cutting, UV clear finishing, soft-touch, foil embossing, and more to highlight how each of these finishings can further elevate high-quality, personalized print.
Capturing the Experience of a Festive Season
The green plaid card featured a soft-touch finish to create a smooth feel, reminiscent of a warm flannel. The tri-fold card opened to a wintery landscape with die-cut branches and UV-clear finished snow to capture the serenity of a quiet winter evening. Finally, the candy tin card featured a beautiful silver foil that sparked curiosity and excitement to open it and see what might be inside.
We wanted to design holiday cards that utilized finishings to their fullest potential—not just for their visual and physical appeal but also to show how they can inspire the joyful emotional experience of a happy holiday season.
