As Trekk's HubSpot Enablement Specialist, here are some updates that stood out to me, designed to help keep your HubSpot portal clean, organized, and easier to manage. And for ads managers out there who are dipping their toes into ChatGPT ads, this month's AI spotlight is for you!
Clean up your CRM: custom text for URL properties
All hubs and tiers
HubSpot has introduced custom text for URL properties. Instead of messy, raw URLs cluttering your record sidebars and list views, you can now replace long web links with clean, clickable text labels like "View Profile" or "Open Listing," ideal for intuitive navigation throughout the CRM.
The label appears as a clickable link wherever the property renders, including across all record sidebars and index tables.
This small formatting upgrade dramatically declutters your CRM workspace. Not only does it cut down on visual noise, but it gives front-line reps instant context on exactly where a link takes them before they click it.
The result for your HubSpot portal is your team gets a more professional, scannable database — ideal for analyzing results and creating insights — and your data stays perfectly organized behind the scenes.
Consolidate multi-step automation in a single workflow
All professional and enterprise hubs
This new update allows you to use records created in a workflow later in the workflow. HubSpot has eliminated the need to split complex automation across multiple workflows by letting you reference newly created records in subsequent actions of the exact same flow.
For example, if a company workflow automatically spins up a new contact, you can immediately add that specific contact to a list, reference and update its unique properties, assign a tailored team task, or trigger an internal alert — all in one place. Potential actions include using calendar dates, date properties, event occurrences, set amounts of time, days of the week, or the time of day to affect your workflow.
This update is a massive win for workflow hygiene that will save admins hours of build time. It helps keep your operations tight, unified, and perfectly synchronized.
How to use HubSpot records created earlier in the same workflow

- Click the name of an existing workflow, or select create workflow to make a new one

- Click create record in the action data section
- Select properties from the newly created record in the created object section
- Click save after setting up the workflow action
ChatGPT Ads integration
All marketing hubs and tiers
You can now connect your ChatGPT Ads account directly to HubSpot to build campaigns, view performance, and track closed-loop ROI right alongside Google, Meta, and LinkedIn.
As search evolves, prospects are moving away from traditional search engines and toward AI-powered ones. ChatGPT users are asking more specific questions, and with stronger buyer intent.
Moving far beyond traditional demographics, ChatGPT ads use a contextual targeting model that displays your business at the exact millisecond a user asks a relevant question.
By uniting paid ChatGPT placements with your Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy inside HubSpot, you can claim more visibility in AI search, capture high-intent leads, and automatically enroll them into HubSpot workflows without ever leaving your portal. With data and AEO efforts living in the same place, your data management and strategy will be more efficient all around.
To improve general AEO, HubSpot’s AEO tool allows you to monitor selected prompts and overall brand visibility. This feature helps you know what your brand should target within your AEO strategy. Utilizing this tool in combination with the ChatGPT Ads integration Private Beta allows for optimal performance in the AI age.
Connect your ChatGPT Ads account
- Navigate to Settings > Marketing > Ads and click Connect account.
-
Select ChatGPT from the network modal.
-
Paste your ChatGPT Ads API key into the field and click Connect. HubSpot validates the key and displays your connected account. Your API key comes from your OpenAI Ads dashboard.
Create a ChatGPT ad campaign
- Navigate to Marketing > Ads and click Create ad campaign.
-
Select the ChatGPT ad type.
-
Creative: Enter a title (3-50 characters), body copy (up to 100 characters), an image, and a destination URL.
-
Targeting: Add context hints. These are phrases describing the conversations you want your ad near (for example, "project management" or "team collaboration tools").
-
Schedule and Budget: Set a start date, end date, and a lifetime budget. ChatGPT uses fixed CPM pricing, so there's no bidding strategy to configure.
-
Click Publish to publish your ChatGPT ad campaign.
View reporting and attribution
Once connected, your ChatGPT ad campaigns will automatically appear in the Manage and Analyze tabs alongside your other ad networks. Campaign, ad group, and ad-level reporting are available in the same places as for other networks.
This streamlines all of your advertising management, allowing you to analyze outcome data and align it with your other marketing efforts to optimize your strategy.
When you enable auto-tracking, HubSpot automatically attaches UTM parameters to your ChatGPT ad URLs. This lets you see which contacts clicked your ChatGPT ads, how many deals resulted from those clicks, and your total ChatGPT Ads ROI. From this data, you can effectively decide which ads are worth the investment, and which need to be reevaluated.
